What is DIN ISO 11798?
DIN ISO 11798 is a standard that specifies requirements and test methods for evaluating the aging resistance of fonts, prints and copies on paper. This standard is critical to ensuring document authenticity and longevity of printed information.
The test includes several individual tests, including:
- Appearance of characters: The test evaluates how well the printed characters look on paper and how clearly they can be recognized.
- Lightfastness: This test examines how well the prints hold up under the influence of light irradiation.
- Water resistance: This test examines how water-resistant the printed information is.
- Impression resistance and abrasion resistance: This test evaluates how resistant the printed characters are to abrasion and impression.
- Heat resistance: This test examines how well the printed characters can withstand heat. Influence of lettering on paper strength: This tests how the lettering affects the strength of the paper.
